This qualifications is aimed at learner's who would like to develop their: knowledge and understanding of health and social care and children and young people's settings, understanding of the similarities and differences between the above settings.

Certificate level 2 Childcare Learning and Development level  2: CCLD

Ref No:

Aim: This qualification is aimed at the learners who want a nationally recognised qualification that provides the theory for units of the NVQ Children's Care, Learning and Development or want a level 2 early years qualification. This course provides training for learners who want to work in a supervised role, with children aged 0-16 years and widen their knowledge in order to improve best practice and promote personal and transferable skills.

 

This course leads to a progression to a Level 3 qualification providing evidence of an ability to complete assignments, meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Minimum Entry: 16 years and above

Guided Learning Hours: 200 hours

Credit Value: 28

 

Qualification Structure:

To achieve this qualification, learners must achieve a minimum credit value of 28 credits. 8 credits must be achieved by successfully completing both mandatory units. A further 20 credits must be achieved by completing at least one unit from each of groups A, B, C and D. A minimum of 11 credits must be at level 2.

Diploma Level 3 for the Children and Young People's workforce:reference number:500/8979/1/LDSS

 

Aim: This qualification is to guide and assess development of knowledge and skills relating to Early Learning and Childcare, Social Care, Learning Development and Support Services workforces. This qualifications confirms competence in these area for all new practitioners for registration and regulatory requirements in the sector.

Minimum Entry: 16 years

Guided Learning Hours: 442-525

Credit Value: 65

Qualification Structure:

This qualification is made up of 11 mandatory units, 3 pathways i.e. early  learning and childcare, social care and learning Development and Support Services and a optional unit.

Health and Social Care level 2 Adults: Ref No:501/2318/X/DEM)

Aim: This qualification is to guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills relating to the health and social care workforce. This qualification confirms competence in these areas for roles such as: Care Assistants/Support Workers/key workers in residential settings, domicilary services, or day services.  It also helps you to work as healthcare assistants/support workers in community and primary care environments or acute health environments. Support workers in supported living projects, community based care Assistants/Support Workers/Key-Workers, including those working in specialist areas eg dementia, learning disabilities.

Minimum Age Entry: 16

Guided Learning Hours: 319-396

Credit value: 46

Health and Social Care level 3 Adults or Children and Young People: (Ref Number:501/2263/0)

Aim: This qualification is to guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills relating to the health and social care workforce. This qualification confirms competence in these areas for roles: such as: senior care assistants/support workers/key workers in residential settings, domiciliary services, day services. Learners after finishing the course are able to work as a senior support workers in community care, primary care and acute health environments.

This qualification greatly helps to work as community based senior care assistants/support workers/key workers, including those working in specialist areas e.g dementia, learning disabilities.

Minimum entry age: 16

Guided Learning Hours: 315-447

Credit Value: 58

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (England)

(RefNo:600/0745/X/

Aim: This qualification is aimed at managers and advanced practitioners in health and social care and children and young people's services.

Minimum Age Entry: 19

Guided Learning Hours: 435-629

Credit Value: 80

Operational End Date: 31/03/2014

Qualification Structure:

This qualification is made up of 12 mandatory units and a range of optional units. To achieve the qualifications a learner must achieve the total of 80 credits:

Group 1 Mandatory Units: All units to be achieved totally 53 credits the remaining 27 credits are to be taken from the optional group 2,3 and 4 taking into account any minimum or maximum requirements per group).

Group 2   Minimum of 12 credits

Group 3: free choice to a maximum value of 6 credits

Group 4: free choice

At least 56 of the credits achieved must be at or above level 5.

This qualification contains barred units .These are units that can't be counted together as part of a rule of combination for a qualification. One unit is barred against another if there is a lot of overlap between the unit content. If a learner completes units that are barred, they won't all be recognised towards the qualification. Only one the units will count towards the credit total required to achieve the qualification.
